Dreaming of A West Coast Adventure?
Join us aboard Ocean Dream and embark on a water-activity focused cruise between the spectacular Abrolhos Islands and Dampier. With plenty of time to swim, snorkel, dive and fish, this cruise along the coral coast is sure to appeal to ocean dreamers who enjoy being on, in or under the sea. Destinations include Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay, Dirk Hartog Island, Coral Bay, the Ningaloo Reef and the Montebello Islands. Cruise includes a Qantas flight between Perth and Geraldton, as well as a light aircraft flight between Geraldton and Abrolhos Islands.
Cruise Itinerary
Days 1-3: Abrolhos Islands
Abrolhos Islands
Depart Perth at 7am for a one hour Qantas flight to Geraldton, a coastal city 424 kilometres north of the state’s capital. From the Geraldton airport, a transfer coach will take you to the light aircraft terminal for a scenic flight to the East Wallabi Islands on board Geraldton Air Tours. When you arrive you’ll be met by the crew and escorted to the waiting Ocean Dream.The Abrolhos Islands offer a diverse range of activities to suit a variety of interests, including crayfishing, swimming, snorkelling and diving.
You will have the opportunity to visit an Akoya pearl farm, learning the processes of harvesting Black Lipped Oysters grown in the bays of the south Island. With pristine conditions and warm waters of the Leeuwin Current, the national park is a perfect environment to grow oysters.
The Abrolhos Islands are well known for the abundant marine life, adding to its attraction to nature enthusiasts and keen fisherman alike. There’ll be plenty of time to swim, snorkel, explore or relax in the pristine surroundings.
On the afternoon of day three, keep your eye out for marine and bird life as Ocean Dream commences the cruise to South Passage on the mainland. As you approach to coastline, enjoy the rugged beauty of the Zuytdorp Cliffs, reaching up to 200 metres tall and spanning 200 kilometres between the mouth of the Murchison River and Dirk Hartog Island. Relax and enjoy canapes on Ocean Dream’s spacious decks, before arriving at South Passage for overnight anchorage.
Day 4: Shark Bay

Enjoy breakfast onboard Ocean Dream before a day of exploring the World Heritage Area of Shark Bay. In the traditional Malgana language, the area is referred to as Gutharragunda, meaning “two bays”. Shark Bay is hugely popular for the keen angler and you’ll get the opportunity to wet a line and chase Mulloway, Trevally, Bream, Whiting and Pink Snapper. Whether you’re targeting demersal species or trolling for pelagics, fishing is the key activity here before you finish with an amazing gourmet dinner.Day 5: Dirk Hartog Island
Dirk Hartog Island
Renowned for its history, natural beauty, spectacular landscapes and fishing, Dirk Hartog Island is a great place for an island adventure with abundant endangered wildlife. This unique World Heritage site has a current ecological restoration project in place called “Return to 1616,” aiming to return the island to the state it was found in 400 years ago. After a gourmet BBQ lunch, spend the afternoon beach combing or enjoying a leisurely swim and snorkel at Turtle Bay before heading back to Ocean Dream for the steam to the overnight anchorage location.Day 6: Dorre Island / Bernier Island

On day six, you’ll explore Dorre or Bernier Island, and weather permitting, indulge in favoured water-based activities including snorkelling, swimming and spearfishing. Inhabiting these protected waters is an abundance of marine life, including fish, turtles, manta rays and crabs. After a delicious lunch onboard, it’s time to commence the steam further up the coast as you head towards the pristine location of Coral Bay.Day 7: Coral Bay

Coral Bay is just as heavenly as the name suggests. Explore white sand beaches where you are only a few steps from the world’s largest fringing reef – the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. Dive or snorkel in clear, turquoise waters and immerse yourself in an underwater paradise. Take a stroll on the beach before an early evening raft up to watch the sunset with delicious canapes and champagne.Day 8: Ningaloo Reef
Ningaloo Reef
The 705,015-hectare heritage listed Ningaloo Reef is made up of shallow lagoons, fringing reef and deeper offshore waters, providing a range of habitats that support many species of marine life. Brightly coloured corals, over 500 species of fish and larger species including turtles, manta rays, dugongs and whale sharks live, or pass through, this incredible reef system. These characteristics make Ningaloo Reef the perfect destination for diving, fishing and snorkelling.Day 9-11: Montebello Islands
Montebello Islands
One of the best kept secrets amongst divers, anglers and snorkellers, the Montebello Islands are a pristine paradise of lagoons, channels, barrier reefs and fringing reefs providing habitats for more than 150 varieties of coral, 450 species of fish, 630 types of molluscs and 170 species of sea star, urchin and other echinoderms.Stroll along white sandy beaches, untouched and ideal for beach combing, swimming, or relaxing with little to no other people around. For keen anglers, Mangrove Jack, Emperor Fish, Coral Trout and Cod are the sought-after species at the “Monties.” For the more adventurous, why not try your hand at landing the desirable Sail Fish.
On the day of disembarkation, you’ll arrive in Dampier Harbour and enjoy a final breakfast aboard Ocean Dream. Pack up and say goodbye to crew and fellow guests before joining the coach transfer to Karratha Airport or your accommodation.
