The Montebello Islands are a popular destination for anglers from right across the globe, offering an abundance of prized catches in designated fishing zones, including Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevally, Sailfish and Black Marlin. Our guests have also landed Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Mangrove Jack and even Crayfish. With a private chef onboard, your delicious catch can be transformed into an exquisite meal.

Wildlife Watching

The Montebello Islands are a natural haven for wildlife enthusiasts. When you turn your eyes to the skies you’ll see plentiful bird species such as ospreys, terns and boobies, while the waters are alive with marine mammals including dolphins, whales and dugongs. This region also serves as a critical breeding ground for four species of turtles – green, hawksbill, flatback and loggerhead.

 

Aboard Ocean Dream, you’ll have the chance to observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. Remember to always respect the environment and maintain safe distances to minimise disruption – Montebello’s wildlife encounters are as magical as they are unforgettable.

  • Diving in coral gardens home to giant clams, Wrasse, Giant Potato Cod, shark and many tropical fish.
  • Snorkelling in lagoons and through channels between the reef that help propel swimmers with gentle currents.
  • Swimming in warm waters that are calm and clear.
  • Fishing for a huge variety of fish including large game fish species like Sail Fish, Marlin, Spanish Mackeral and smaller reef fish like Trout, Cod and Emperors.
  • Exploring Bedwell Island and observing the wildlife inhabitants including one of only two colonies in WA of red tailed tropic birds.
